Another ‘Free Postage’ Deal!

We’re back at it! This time it’s free postage, worldwide, for any order totaling over 60 euros. Offer ends.. when it ends!

Obviously, with the current ‘lock down’ affecting many countries and their postal services, we can only post to European countries. We do welcome orders coming from the ‘rest of the world’ but those are not likely to be posted before the 19th of April at the earliest.

Please note: Postage will be refunded via Paypal or Bank Transfer at the time of posting.

Stay safe, stay home and build scale models, Folks!

Time-a-plenty?

Confinement week 2 here, we are taking the time to complete a (large) number of patterns that have been collecting dust, unfinished, for a while (some for a long while!!). This promises a large number of new items for later in the year, when we are again allowed out to visit and trade at shows!

Good music and DVDs help us along all this work. It might be a good time to watch again ‘Kelly’s Heroes’, as our Chibi Kelly’s Heroes Tiger I conversion kit is now out and being shipped (at least to European destinations!). Follow our (almost) daily progress on those future sets and kits om our Facebook page where we also post pics of RetrokiT models from modellers from all around the globe.

Oh yes, big announcement coming out later this month…

Well, almost ‘Beer o’Clock’ here (5.00pm CET), almost time for our daily break in the sunshine!

Keep safe and build scale models, Folks!

Some good news!

Yes, at a time when the media is bombarding us with Covid-19 news, some good news are, we feel, needed ! We are going to miss a number of shows during this first half of the year – we are still planning for them, do check our Calendar page for our provisional schedule, but who knows when the current ‘lock down’ status affecting many countries will end? – and we are therefore going to try to help our customers out.

Until the 29th of March, we are offering free shipping to any orders totaling over 40 euros. The offer requires going through the usual RetrokiT online ordering process and a refund for the p&p will be sent back via Paypal or bank transfer at the time of shipping. The offer is valid for the whole world, until further notice. Do note that at the time of writing, we are not allowed to post to mainland China, but the offer remains valid for Chinese modellers; their orders will be shipped (and p&p refunded) as soon as our National Post Office rescinds the ban on shipping to China.

And as we feel we all need to get a break from all this serious business, ANY order over 40 euros including a minimum of 10 euros worth of Egg Plane or Chibi AFV goodies gets an additional 10% off (refunded at time of shipping).

Great time to order our latest Chibi AFV release, the T-34/76 ChTZ Turret, and/or to pre-order our special edition ‘Kelly’s Heroes’ Tiger I Conversion Kit (also designed to fit the WWT T-34/76 kit), isn’t it!?

Folks, be safe but DO think of others that may need help around you in those curious times. Turn off your mobile phone news notifications, put some good music on and keep scale modelling! Life is instantly WAY better!

Covid-19

The current Covid-19 pandemic is affecting us too, obviously, and with shows being cancelled or postponed, our calendar is quickly changing, almost on a daily basis right now! Cancelled and postponed shows unfortunately also mean less income for the company and this may affect our new releases schedule, and the re-release of a number of older sets currently out of production. However, we are still expecting to have the following new items coming out later this month including our latest Bananaaa! (Inspector Bananaaa!), the WWT T34/76 ChTZ turret, and above all, the WWT Kelly’s Heroes’ Tiger I conversion kit.

So, stay safe and keep scale modelling, Folks!

Brexit…

As of the 1st of February 2020, the UK is no longer part of the European Union. However, as we are now into a transition period until (probably) the 31st of December 2020, we are still considering the UK as part of our ‘EU + EFTA + European micro-states’ grouping and as such, our p&p fees to the UK remain the same as they were before Brexit. This may of course change in the future depending on whether a new deal (or not) is agreed with the EU.

You will notice that our 2020 Calendar includes a number of shows in the UK. Those are provisional bookings, and our actual attendance will depend on the actual status of Brexit at those times.

First 2020 Releases

The first new RetrokiT items of the new year are out! The 1/144 Sepma K35 used by the Aeronavale is our star new release, but we are also very pleased to offer a cockpit detail set for the 1/144 Heller Mirage 2000 and a conversion kit designed to modify the 1/144 Sweet A5M Claude nto the two-seater training variant, the A5M4-K. We are adding the F-104G cockpit detail set to our small but growing 1/100 range, and our AFV Chibi range sees the arrival of the M5A1 turret, destined to the Ment World War Toons M5 Stuart kit.

February will see the start of our ‘show season’, feel free to check our (still not 100% set in stone) Calendar page.

Happy scale modelling, Folks!

A little closer…

We are a little closer, with the completion of a second bust, to launching our latest range, Risqué by RetrokiT. This is a big deal for us, a big departure from our usual releases, a long learning curve, and, technically-wise, in terms of pattern-making and casting, a massive challenge.

Stay informed about those developments, and all of our latest releases by following us on our Facebook page!

2020!

Yet another year passes by, the 13th since the creation of RetrokiT as we know it. 2019 has been a positive year for us, 23 shows in six countries, one new range started (1/72 aircraft detail sets), 48 new items added to the catalogue, and if some parts of the RetrokiT catalogue got more than others, we plan to remedy to that during 2020. We have an impressive number of new patterns awaiting caster’s time. We have yet another new range to kick off too.

2020 will also be a year of changes and very much like 2019, a year of a few uncertainties. This website will shortly be revamped a little in order to make it easier to use and we will -unfortunately- soon have to increase our p&p rates, our first such increase in five years. Whether or not we will attend to show in the UK will depend on the type of Brexit we are served with, but at least we should be fixed pretty quickly there. UK-based modellers may thus face a second p&p increase in the early stages of the New Year…

Speaking of shows, our proposed schedule is up on our Calendar page. We are still working on it though and things will certainly change over the next few weeks.

Speaking of new items, we are ending the year with two new releases, a WWT sIG33 Conversion Kit and a 1/100 Fiat G.91 Cockpit Detail Set. Please feel free to write to us and suggest new items, a good 50% of our releases are due to the brainwaves of people we meet at shows or visit our website or Facebook page. Speaking of which, do follow us on Facebook, you will get far more snippets of info about RetrokiT, our show schedule, our new releases, our latest patterns and much more than on this webshop.

Well, there we go, another year another page turned. We all at RetrokiT would like to wish you the very best for the end of the 2019 and of course for 2020!

And between fully laden plates, keep on scale modelling, Folks!

Last shows of the year…

As we release our latest BIG kit, the 1/35 JPK90 of the Belgian army, we are also getting ready for our last two shows of the year, the IPMS-Nederland National Convention and the London Plastic Model Show. Our 2020 provisional calendar s already online on our Calendar page. No doubt, things on that page will still change a bit before things are set n stone, but it’s a pretty good start.

Our latest releases, added to our website earlier today, will almost certainly be the last of the year too: we have a cockpit detail set for the AFVClub Q-range (Chibi) F-104, two new 1/144 X-Wing cockpit detail sets (yes, even in 1/144 differences can be seen!!), and a road wheels set for Meng’s World War Toons KingTiger. 2020 should start with a lot of new items, be sure to follow us on FB where we offer glimpses of our forthcoming releases (like the Chibi F-35A and F-5E/F cockpit detail sets posted earlier today).

Talk to you soon again, Folks!

Latest News!

Nothing beats the feeling we at RetrokiT get when we know people enjoy the products we have spent hours, days, weeks (months sometimes!) creating. We very regularly receive, via e-mail or through our Facebook page, pictures of YOUR work, like this cute Jagdpanther from Klaas Postmus, and we want you to keep them coming, as we enjoy them VERY MUCH. Be certain that those pics and your feedback go a long way in keeping RetrokiT going!

It’s been a while since our last ‘update’ on this site, please do forgive us, we have been very busy – we still are! – with the big shows of the last quarter of the year. Followng our slightly earlier releases (1/144 Fw-190D-9 cockpit detail set, 1/100 and 1/144 Me-163 decals, World War Toons M3 Stuart conversion kit,..), we have just added a few new items to our ranges, a ‘more correct’ Sherman 75mm turret and a SU-76i conversion kit in our very popular AFV Chibi range for a start, decal sheets for 1/144 P-40Bs, Fw-190D-9s and Chibi P-40Bs too, a He-111Z conversion kit in our 1/144 aviation range and last but not least a complete 1/144 resin kit of the X-17, a famed fictional V/STOL design from a early 1960s graphic novel (this will be found in our RetroSF range, not in the 1/144 RetroWings range).

Expected within a couple of weeks are two new 1/144 X-Wing cockpit detail sets (yes, there were variations from one movie to another!), ‘more correct’ road wheels for the Meng World War Toons’ KingTiger, and a 1/144 A5M4-K conversion kit, and the slightly late to be released 1/35 JPK90, themselves to be followed in time for Xmas and the New Year, by a rather large number of 1/144 aviation and WWT goodies.

2020 should be a good year for the amateurs of 1/144 military aviation and caricaturised AFVs for sure! But we are also working on additional 1/72 AFV subjects, at least one more 1/35 Belgian AFV kit and a new Bananaaa! ‘concept’ which we hope to launch early in the New Year too.

So, keep an eye out on our Facebook page in particular where we tend to show off our latest work, patterns and releases..!

In the meantime, Happy Scale Modelling, Folks!
