Shows at last?

The end of August should hopefully see us returning to trading at scale model shows. It’s been a long time since the last one we attended to (February 2020..!), let’s hope the few scheduled for the end of 2021 are not going to be cancelled, because we are really looking forward to seeing old friends again and share a couple or more drinks with each of them…

We are starting off with a show in Huy, Belgium, on the 28th of August. Three weeks later we will again be in Belgium, in Mol this time for the KMK show and although SMC had to be cancelled for 2021, we will have a final outing, still in Belgium, in Fleurus in November. The way things progress (or not) with the on-going Covid crisis will dictate how many shows we attend to in 2022, but it’s very likely to be far less than the 25 to 30 shows we did prior Covid.

We are pleased to finally release our (so far!) largest World war Toons conversion set, the Artilleriewagen S.SP.Pz; Meng’s contribution will be small, just the turret of a Pz III, but if you have used our conversion kits before, you might have that readily in stock..!

September (possibly late August) will see the release of 2 new World War Toons conversion kits, three new 1/144 aircraft detail sets, one RetroSF ‘SW’ set and four re-releases (sets that were out of production but that we are putting back in production).

Lots more scheduled for the last three months of the year but let’s not get too excited!

In the meantime, keep on scale modelling, Folks!

Summer of ’21 Sale!

It’s been quite a while since our last special offer, Folks! We are pleased to announce the start of our latest sale, our 2021 summer sale:

For 10 days only (that is until July 19th, 2021, Midnight CET), get any three items for the price of two..! This is how this will work: place your order as usual via our RetrokiT website, pay in full and get refunded the price of any third item ordered (lowest priced item, that is) at the time of posting. Note that as shows are still weeks away, our stock is kept to a minimum and some time may be needed before your complete order can be shipped. We aim to ship all orders ASAP, within a week, but if a delay is needed, we will contact you and let you know. Any order should be posted within 3 to 4 weeks after receipt of the order. Postage to be charged as usual. A minimum order of 30 euros (postage not included) is required to ‘trigger‘ the special offer. All returning customers will also qualify for a little ‘extra‘, a small way of extending our gratitude for your past custom.

Note that our postage fees will need to be changed, this will be done after the end of this summer sale; the increase is the first we will implement in several years, we did not want to do it, but it’s got to be done. So take advantage of this sale to beat the postage increase that is coming later this July.

So what are you waiting for..? The sale is now ON.

Shows in sight!

As we get into the month of June, the future looks a little bit brighter for scale model shows all over Europe. However, at least for a little while, RetrokiT will not be attending to as many shows as in the past; we averaged over 25 shows each year, we plan to do no more than 10 each year, and there might only be a small handful this year. One of them is likely to be Scale Model World in Belgium in September. Our Agenda will no doubt grow a little as things get confirmed (or not!) over the next few weeks…

Four new releases have just reached the various RetrokiT ranges: two set of SW droids in 1/72, a cool conversion for the Meng World War Toon Char B1 and last but not least a 1/144 cockpit detail set for the Eduard MiG-15bis kits. The latter was a to answer a ‘special request’ from one of our long-time followers in Germany. Let’s hope the new set fulfill his expectations! We welcome any suggestions, by the way..!

More new sets are being cast as we write those lines, we expect 6 new releases in June. Watch this space!

Be safe, get vaccinated, and keep on scale modelling, Folks!

More new releases!

Our 11th and 12th new releases so far this year are now available online. They are:

The Churchill Mk.VII Update Kit designed for the Meng ‘World War Toons’ Churchill Tank, and featuring a more accurate (but still ‘toonish’) turret, side air intakes and engine deck than the base kit,

The F-105F/G Conversion Kit for the 1/144 Otaki, or Arii, Revell or even Entex kits. A long-awaited release on which we started working over 5 years ago.. We got.. shall we say, distracted..!

Other new releases had been planned for early April but our casters are too busy at the moment, so they will come a bit later.. Amongst those are our 1/144 U-2R/TR-1 detail sets, a toon Draisine and some (also long-awaited!) new 1/72 RetroSF Star Wars bits.

We’ll get them ready ASAP for you!

In the meantime, stay safe and keep on scale modelling, Folks!

More New 1/144 Bits!

The latest 1/144 RetroWings detail sets are out now! A long-awaited cockpit for the more recent Revell Panavia Tornado kits, and cockpits for the Brengun He-162 and Ho-229A kits join our still growing 1/144 range, to be following next month (April 2021) by the F-105 two-seater conversion kit for the (much) older Otaki kit (many times re-issued by the likes of Arii and Revell to name but two).

Note that our P-39 cockpit detail set and our Land-Rover Series 3 are still very new in that range too!

Also out next month are our next 1/100 aircraft detail sets, F-105 Thunderchief and A-7 Corsair II and a ‘correction’ kit for the Meng World War Toons Churchill Tank. Some new RetroSF items should follow soon after that, in particular our Cargo Bay detail set for the superb 1/144 Bandai AT-AT. As always, you can follow the making of our latest patterns and be updated about our latest releases by visiting our Facebook page.

That’s all for now, Folks! Be safe & keep scale modelling!

New 1/144 RetroWings sets!

We are pleased to announce the release of three new 1/144 RetroWings sets. They are a cockpit detail set for the Brengun P-39 Airacobra kits, a cockpit & cabin detail set for the Revell SA-330 Puma kit and a rather exciting Land Rover Series 3 (with options for for either a hard- or soft-topped vehicle) than continues our foray into airfield/airport vehicles, though this particular release can be used in many other settings. More 1/144 ‘aircraft’ sets are due out later this month, and as you may have seen on our Facebook page, we have been busy designing yet more 1/144 sets and kits, along with a few more for our growing 1/100 range.

That’s all for now, Folks! Be safe and keep on scale modelling.

New WWT conversions!

Our first 2021 releases, two World War Toons conversions, are now available online! The Panzer IV/70 and Churchill AVRE are our first conversions designed for the Meng WWT Panxer IV and Churchill kits, but not the last, for sure. More will follow soon.

For later this February, the latest two 1/72 RetroTracks kits, the Wickham Armoured Rail Car and the Daimler-Guinness Armoured Lorry, both expected to be available around the 25th of the month, along with two new 1/144 RetroWings items. Note that some pictures of our forthcoming 1/35 RetroTracks Wickham Armoured Rail Car have been posted on our Facebook page and that you can follow its progress there.

That’s all for now, Folks!

New Temporary Free Postage Offer

January is often a difficult month and we are pleased to offer, for the last few days of this first month of the year, free postage to anywhere in the world on all orders of over 40 euros.

January brought us some temporary setbacks, with our main caster being off work for about 10 days for a major surgery, and this explains why a handful of customers are still awaiting their orders. To all of you, thanks for your understanding, patience and good words that we passed on to said caster. He’s fully recovered now, and busy casting resin.

With this, our expected first releases of 2021, two WWT conversion kits, have been slightly postponed but have no fear, they will soon hit the website; the two new 1/72 RetroTracks kits are still due out in February along with some new 1/144 aircraft detail sets.

The next 1/35 RetroTracks kit is being designed right now, and we expect to put it on the website pretty soon, initially on a pre-order basis. Yet another 1/35 RetroTracks kit is also in the early stages of eventually being released during 2021. More details about both kits should appear soon on our Facebook page, so don’t forget to like it or follow it for all the latest news.

OK, Folks, it’s time to get back to work for us, stay safe and keep on scale modelling!

A Better New Year!

That’s what we at RetrokiT wish to all, all over the globe (and to the few circling it above our heads!). 2020 could have been worse, but we’ll be happy to see the end of it all the same. We are not really thinking that life as before will re-start soon, but we’d love to travel again, meet old friends and make new ones at shows here and there. When one works from home, confinement is not really a big issue, but the ‘social’ aspect of the shows is being missed, for sure!

As you may have seen on our Facebook page, we have already set into motion the release of two new 1/72 RetroTracks kits for early 2021, available on pre-order at a special discounted price until the 25th of January. Expect a few new similar announcements soon for some of our other ranges. There will certainly be new World War Toons items coming out in January and new 1/144 bits in February; there are lots of new patterns awaiting caster’s time, and we are still producing more…

Take care, be safe and keep on scale modelling, Folks!

No Show!

What a year this has been. We did manage to attend to a single show during 2020, and it looks as if little will change on that front until well into 2021… At least, we are still alive and kicking, releasing new kits. Once again this year, we have maybe a little leaned towards Chibi subjects, but please bear with us, we have other new releases up our sleeves, and frankly, if you have not try those World War Toons tanks from Meng, you seriously should consider it between two far more serious, more involved subjects, it is a highly refreshing experience! The number of people infected with THAT virus is growing and growing, and that range of ours is breaking records all the time, sales-wise. We are not complaining! And we are having a whale of a time designing those conversion kits, such as this Schmallturm turret illustrated here.

With this in mind, we are happy to announce the release of our latest set in that particular range, this time our first conversion kit designed for the Matilda II kit. Be sure that more will follow!

Keep on scale modelling and stay safe, Folks!
